How NordGuide chooses recommendations
The trust method behind the guides: local usefulness, decision clarity and transparent links.
Updated July 2026
Short answer: NordGuide recommendations are selected for practical value, not for a generic top-10 list. We prioritise location, timing, traveller fit, weather resilience and whether the experience is worth the money.
How we choose what appears on NordGuide
| Criterion | What it means |
|---|---|
| Local usefulness | Would this help a traveller make a better decision before arrival? |
| Time saved | Does it reduce planning work or prevent a bad booking sequence? |
| Trip fit | Is it different for first-timers, couples, families, budget travellers or event visitors? |
| Trade-off clarity | We state the catch: crowds, distance, price, weather, or when to skip. |
Affiliate links and independence
Some links may earn NordGuide a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate potential does not decide whether an item appears; traveller usefulness does. If a page contains an affiliate link, it is labelled in the disclosure text and marked with rel="sponsored".
What still needs building
NordGuide is early-stage. We are building more destination pages, hotel comparisons, event pages, methodology notes and first-party traveller feedback over time.
